Artist Bio

I'm Sharard "X" Saddlers, a Florida-based public artist, muralist, and illustrator, and the founder of Sharard X Art & Apparel LLC. I create large-scale public artwork that celebrates community, history, education, and culture through vibrant visual storytelling. My work transforms everyday spaces into places of connection, inviting people to see themselves, their neighbors, and their shared stories reflected in the environments they experience every day. Whether painting a school, library, transit system, or neighborhood landmark, my goal is to create artwork that leaves a lasting impact on both the space and the people who use it.

WHAT INSPIRES YOUR ART?

I'm inspired by people and the stories that shape a community. History, childhood memories, education, family, music, and the everyday moments that often go unnoticed all influence my work. I believe public art has the power to make people feel seen, spark conversations, and create a sense of belonging. My murals often layer symbolism, portraiture, and narrative elements so viewers can discover something new each time they experience the artwork.

WHAT DOES COMMUNITY MEAN TO YOU?

Community means belonging. It's the collection of people, stories, traditions, and shared experiences that make a place unique. Every mural I create begins with listening because the strongest public art doesn't speak for a community—it reflects it. My goal is to create artwork that residents feel proud to call their own and that visitors immediately recognize as something authentic to that place.

What story would you love to tell through a mural?

I want to tell stories that remind people they are part of something bigger than themselves. Whether it's celebrating a neighborhood's history, honoring local heroes, or inspiring the next generation to dream beyond their circumstances, I want my murals to become visual landmarks that connect the past, present, and future. I love creating artwork that encourages curiosity, hope, and pride while giving communities a lasting symbol of their identity.
